Николай Антов преподает в Университете штата Арканзас историю исламской цивилизации, Османской империи и других исламских империй, а также крестовых походов. Область его научных интересов -- история исламского мира до начала XIX века. В настоящее время работает над книгой, посвященной отношениям между кочевниками и государством в Османской империи раннего Нового времени.
