Judith Allnatt is the author of four published novels. A Mile of River was a Radio 5 Live book of the month and was shortlisted for the Portico prize for literature. The Poet's Wife was shortlisted for the East Midlands book award. The Moon Field, a war novel, was described as 'deeply and genuinely moving' by The Times. Her latest novel, The Silk Factory is a haunting tale of the nineteenth century weavers' rebellions. Judith's poetry has been longlisted in the National Poetry Competition and short stories have featured in the Bridport prize anthology, the Commonwealth short story awards, the Edinburgh Flash Fiction Awards and on BBC Radio 4. Judith has worked in the literature field for over twenty-five years, lecturing on Creative Writing for universities, mentoring writers at every stage of development and working as a public speaker, panellist and chairperson for festivals and conferences. She has worked widely with museums, galleries and heritage sites as a writer in residence. She is a trustee of the regional arts body, Writing East Midlands. Judith was brought up on a farm and her writing has been praised for its close observation of the natural world and for its lyrical quality. She lives with her family in rural Northamptonshire where she enjoys walking and working on new writing projects.
