The Poop Book: What Is Your Poop Trying to Tell You? Your poop has a story to tell - are you ready to listen? In The Poop Book, fifth-generation herbalist Ann Tam, along with co-authors Dr. Patricia Nguyen and Catherine Yung, invites you to look at one of the body's most basic functions in a completely new way. Drawing from the time-tested wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and modern holistic understanding, this book helps you interpret what your stool reveals about your digestion, organ health, and overall balance. Every day, your body sends messages - through texture, color, smell, and even the sound of elimination. The Poop Book teaches you how to read those signals and understand what your body needs to restore harmony from within. Inside, you'll discover: What truly healthy poop looks like - and how often you should go. How to identify imbalances through color, shape, texture, and odor. The TCM connections between your Liver, Spleen, Kidneys, Qi, Blood, and digestion. The link between emotions, stress, and elimination - and how to calm the gut through lifestyle. Practical tips, foods, and herbal habits to rebuild gut strength and long-term vitality. Beautifully illustrated in full color, The Poop Book for Humans turns an often awkward topic into a fascinating and empowering guide. Whether you struggle with irregular digestion, fatigue, or bloating - or simply want to understand your body better - this book gives you a clear, natural path toward better gut health and overall wellness. Because when you listen to your body, healing begins - one bathroom trip at a time.
Autorenporträt
Ann Tam is a fifth-generation herbalist whose lineage in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) stretches back to Imperial China. Born in Vietnam and raised in her father's herbal shop, she grew up surrounded by the scent of medicinal roots, leaves, and tonics - learning to identify herbs, recite ancient formulas, and prepare remedies by hand.Though she once pursued a different path, life led her back to her roots when her second daughter suffered from severe gastric reflux and seizures. After exhausting conventional options, Ann turned to her family's ancestral formulas. Under her father's guidance, her daughter made a full recovery without pharmaceuticals - an experience that rekindled Ann's lifelong commitment to natural healing.Ann went on to study the medicinal properties of natural plants at the University for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong and trained directly under her father using handwritten medical texts passed down through generations. Today, she carries her family's legacy into the modern era through Silkie, her herbal wellness line known for using premium herbs harvested at peak potency, naturally bound with honey, and never containing fillers or synthetics.Passionate about both education and empowerment, Ann teaches how the body reveals its state of balance - through digestion, elimination, and energy flow. Her books, The Poop Book for Humans and The Poop Book for Pets, blend centuries-old wisdom with modern insight, helping readers and pet owners alike understand that true health begins within.
