Autorenporträt
Leon Burnette (aka Mr. B the Guru) is a native of Los Angeles who has also spent over forty-five years in the Deep South. He's an author, publisher, musicologist, experimental education specialist, Civil Rights tour specialist, international tour director, and former tour manager for A-List Soul and Jazz recording Motown artists. He's also the founder and CEO of two organizations making a major difference in urban communities. The Media Arts Institute of Alabama, and Urban Youth Travel Alliance, is also director of the Diversity Project in Travel and Tourism. He is deeply passionate about mentoring aspiring visionaries, storytellers, and creatives. His innovative digital media programs were designed to give HBCU students "on the job" technical training through internships with workforce solutions, professional entertainment, communications, and digital media companies. His dream for these programs was to expose inner-city youth to new cultures across the United States. Leon has always had a gift to visualize, plan, and execute creative ideas and initiatives for public consumption and enjoyment. This dream didn't only become a reality; it became the seed of opportunities where some of his diamond pupils used their real-world experience from these programs to establish their own multi-million-dollar companies later.
