Armin Wiebe's plays, The Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven Blatz, Wine and Little Breads, and The Recipe, are spin-offs from his fiction set in mythical Gutenthal: The Salvation of Yasch Siemens, Murder in Gutenthal, The Second Coming of Yeeat Shpanst, Armin's Shorts, and Grandmother, Laughing. Tatsea, set in Canada's subarctic, received the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. Renowned for the musicality of his dialect and dialogue, and his humor, Armin has served as writer-in-residence at the Saskatoon Public Library, Parkland Regional Library, and the University of Manitoba's Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture. He proudly makes his home in downtown Winnipeg.
