The importance of a well-educated, well-trained, skilled, enthusiastic and committed workforce cannot be underestimated for the service industries and the tourism industry and firms, in particular. This book examines the relationship between university tourism and career success in the tourism industry in Kenya. It establishes the extent to which the competencies and skills imparted on the university graduates prepare them for career success in the tourism industry. The author establishes that the current curriculum implementation process does not reflect the expectectations of the tourism industry. However, the study findings indicated that the universities had the required personnel and resources to train tourism personnel. The book recommends a compelling need for closer collaboration between industry and training providers and considerable support for the operation of industry advisory committees. This book is applicable to tourism academicians, practitioners, training institution, policy makers and students.
