Steven Kitchell earned a bachelor's degree with a minor in religious studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and a master's degree in central Eurasian studies from Indiana University. He also has extensive overseas experience interacting with other religions and cultures, and became a Free Baha'i after studying the texts.
