Among his notable works are - Sons of the Morning, The River, and The Human Boy. In ""Sons of the Morning,"" he explores human relationships and spiritual themes through a cast of characters navigating personal dilemmas, set against a richly described natural backdrop. Phillpotts was also an advocate for the arts and took a keen interest in social issues, his contributions to literature, especially in the context of nature writing and regionalism, have earned him a place in the literary canon. He passed away in 1960.
