The Rogue River Incident duology is rooted in my lifelong connection to Oregon's Rogue River and a fascination with the unknown. Growing up near this rugged waterway, I spent countless hours hiking, tubing, cliff diving, and fishing-experiences that made it the perfect setting for my first novel. With Mitch Wilde, a character inspired by Fox Mulder from The X-Files, I set out to explore strange phenomena against the wild backdrop of the Pacific Northwest. One day, I sat down with this idea, and several months and 85,000 words later, book one was finished. I love a good cliffhanger, and I always keep in mind Garth Stein's advice: "Write something you'd want to read." That's how The Rogue River Incident came to life.
