Edilberto Clairefont Dias Maia is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who graduated in 1981 from the Faculty of Medicine of the State University of Pará. He did his medical residency in Psychiatry at the Maia Psychiatry Clinic in São Paulo. He has a degree in Group Analytical Psychotherapy from the Institute of Group Analytical Psychotherapy of the State of São Paulo.
