The work is about observing the behavior of school management in the face of the commission of an infraction within the establishments of the state public education network, in contrast to the legislation for children and adolescents. The study aims to analyze whether the state's legal provisions are at odds with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, which would jeopardize adolescents' correct understanding of their participation and responsibility in society. Through bibliographical research and semi-structured interviews with school managers in their work environment, the aim was to elucidate the problem by comparing their actions as determined by the Maranhão State School Rules and the aforementioned provisions. After analyzing the information obtained, the situation is explained in relation to giving school management responsibility for handling situations arising from the commission of an offence within the school.
