Great emphasis has been placed on the issues surrounding the teaching-learning process in higher education as a result of the demands of a changing society. Within the political-institutional framework, it is known that the quality of the student is directly related to the teaching staff and an appropriate pedagogical model for the university. Thus, the qualification and permanent updating (both technical and didactic-pedagogical) of the teaching staff is essential for the comprehensive training of dental surgeons. The aim of this study was to assess the perception of undergraduate dental students and teachers regarding the role of the teacher in the teaching-learning process.
