Nancy Heilbronner, Ph.D., has been in education for almost 20 years and is currently a faculty member at Western Connecticut State University, where she teaches classes on talent development, leadership, technology, creativity, and statistics. A former science teacher, she researches and publishes frequently on gifted and science education and is the author of the book, Ten Things NOT to Say to Your Gifted Child and coauthor of the science methods book Think Data: Getting Kids Involved in Hands-On Investigations With Data-Gathering Instruments. She provides professional development and speaks at parent groups nationwide. Dr. Heilbronner is active in service to the community and university, and she currently serves as on the board of the Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG). She is the parent of three adult gifted children and enjoys living quietly at home and going on hikes with her husband, Fred, and puppy, Teddy, in rural New York.
