Leena-Marjatta Pulfer-Korhonen was born in the Finnish village of Otava on February 10, 1942. After graduating from a girls' high school in Mikkeli, Leena studied Finnish language and literature at the University of Helsinki, graduating with a master's degree in philosophy. In 1969 she married the journalist Fritz Pulfer in Zurich. From then on Leena lived in Switzerland. At the end of a busy period, the couple moved back to Finland, to Leena's home village of Otava. Here she found the leisure and time to devote to her favorite pastime, writing. She finished the imaginative story of the lava prince Tuomas. The two books are Leena's gift to her home community, because in them she was able to realize many things that the present suburb of Mikkeli. Leena was able to finish her work. Unfortunately, an incurable cancer prevented her from holding the printed books in her hands. Leena died on June 17th, 2023.
