RT (Rose Tremaine) was an eccentric lady who had been a mistress to many influential men over fifty or more years. Her lovers included a dishonest Senator, an English Prince, a President and numerous others including powerful men in the Mafia. Her trouble was that she knew too much, a lot of which could bring down these high ranking men - so she had to be taken out. She entrusts her incriminating diaries, documents and hundreds of photos to a young woman called Carrie, who after the old lady's vicious murder, meets the murderer and realizes she is next on the list. She has to escape from Southern California without anyone knowing and ends up in England before returning to open her safe deposit boxes to reveal RT's secrets.
