Autorenporträt
Jan Wills-Collins is an eighty-four-year-old retired nurse and health and safety consultant, spending her retirement years in the beautiful coastal town of Whangamat¿, New Zealand. In 2021, she published her memoir, The Hidden Scars of Polio. Her journey with polio and its aftermath has found resonance with many people. One would be forgiven for thinking Jan paid her dues with this illness, but this was not to be. In December 2022, Jan was diagnosed with bladder cancer. This book is written for no other reason than to help others deal with the same situation (and possibly some self-counselling).
