Owning our inner strength as women is no small task. Most of us are indoctrinated to play small, stay silent, and go along to get along. Karen's writing in her latest work, The Silent Strut of the Shadow Warrior: My Journey to Inner Strength and Spirit, invites us to turn away from patriarchal oppression and turn toward our inner power, especially when life gets hard. As a sequel to Learning to Respect My Strut: My Journey as a Woman Warrior, this book continues Karen's journey to a place deep within where the true strength resides. Through memoir, the book illustrates the ability of the human spirit within - the Shadow Warrior - to overcome the hard times and learn from them. It is Karen's hope that this book will act as a supporting friend for women who face hardships and difficulties, yet often feel alone in the process. Let this book be your companion and reminder that you are not, in fact, alone.
Autorenporträt
Karen Taylor is an English instructor at a local community college near her home in Western North Carolina. She also has a group program, the Own Your Strut Squad, that serves as support and guidance for women wishing to embrace their power. Her writing explores how women can better understand their inherent power, experience their right to freedom, and find their own strut and their own Shadow Warrior. She is a mother of three sons, one biological, the other two acquired, of which she is fiercely proud. She calls herself humorously inappropriate, and when not writing, she can be found reading books, spending time with her dog and enjoying the beach.
