At its epicenter the Solicitor is the story of Marcello Luna, a brilliant sociopathic intellectual, wealthy Fulbright scholar, and linguist. As events unfold, the narrative shifts its focus to Beatriz Luna, and the hardships she endures as her husband's reckless decisions and bigger-than-life personality plunge them into a series of chaotic events, impacting them and those they meet, who are eventually left in their wake along the way. Spanning a decade commencing in 1977 in Montevideo, Uruguay and ending in Los Angeles, California, accurate geographical details, noteworthy contemporary public figures, and civil and social issues during the time of the AIDS epidemic, authenticate this compelling story's relevance and cautionary tale.
