What is the most important thing happening in the world today? It's not the soaring national debt, the plummeting birthrate, or the ascent of AI, but the rapidly approaching completion of Jesus' Great Commission. In The Sprint to the Finish: The Global Push to Complete the Great Commission in This Generation, author Douglas Cobb offers a front-line account of the worldwide movement to fulfill Jesus' command to "make disciples of every nation" in our generation. In The Sprint to the Finish, Cobb draws on his extensive experience as managing partner of the Finishing Fund, which has funded projects to reach over 800 unengaged people groups in 66 countries with the gospel. The book details inspiring stories of transformed lives in remote regions, highlights the strategic role of indigenous missionaries, and explores the biblical significance of completing the Great Commission, as outlined in Matthew 24:14, which ties this mission to the return of Christ. In this book, readers will learn: What the Great Commission is and why it is so important About the three Great Commission Finish lines: every nation, every language, and every place, and how close we are to reaching each of them How Jesus tied his return to the completion of the task How they can become part of the sprint to the finish as the global church nears the completion of its 2,000-year mission. Cobb's narrative weaves together real-world accounts of missionary work with theological insights, offering readers hope and practical guidance for living faithfully in these significant days. The book emphasizes the urgency and excitement of this "sprint" to reach every nation, making it a timely read for Christians seeking to understand their role in this historic moment. "In writing this book, I've tried to bring this subject to life and to make it understandable and interesting. It breaks my heart that so many are unaware of the amazing things God is doing in these last days. My hope is that through this book you will be enlightened and encouraged to find your place in the sprint to the finish of the Great Commission race."
