Autorenporträt
Richard Warren Sears, founder of Sears, Roebuck and Company, was born in Stewartville on December 7, 1863, and lived for about six years in a home that still stands along Main Street. The home is now the headquarters of the Stewartville Area Historical Society, which maintains photographs and other historical items that tell the stories of the pioneers who settled the land and built new lives in Stewartville, High Forest, Pleasant Grove, Racine, and Simpson. Some of the pioneers who left indelible footprints are included in this book.
