SHAKURU BABA was born in the city of Tamale in the northern part of Ghana. He received his primary and part of his high school education in the city of Tamale. He graduated from the University of Ghana with a bachelor's degree in administration. He completed his ACCA examinations with Kaplan whilst studying in the UK. He resides in the city of Tamale with his wife, Feiruza, and has two kids, Mawaddah and Muhammad Abul-Barakaat.
