Lizzie is finally getting what she's always wanted: a family! But it comes with a catch; her new sister Amélie only speaks French. It takes a lot of hard work, but the girls find creative ways to communicate and discover some surprising similarities: they share the same favorite childhood stories and are very capable in a kayak. Together they have two goals: win the annual summer Kayathlon and learn each other's language. But when a beloved family member suffers a tragic accident and the Kayathlon board changes the rules of the competition, their plans start to unravel. Autorenporträt
Meredith Overbeek lives in Bristol, Tennessee, with her husband Todd and their four children, whom they homeschool. She'd almost always rather be reading but may also be found walking her charming old neighborhood (while listening to an audio book), knitting, or, if it's before dawn, writing. This is her first novel.
