Marjana Maisha is a recognized public speaker and humanitarian, who was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, where she resides. Marjana has a long history of raising awareness and seeking to empower others around important issues, dating back to grade three, when she spoke on the inequities of racism and was broadcast live on CityTV and CP24 television. She is founder and former executive director of the University of Toronto's Stevens-Johnson Syndrome Foundation, where she received her degree for Life Sciences in Neuroscience and Population Health. Marjana is currently the founder and director of the Spark of Courage Foundation, a non-profit organization that strives to support and empower people through fundraising, activities, and speaking events. Marjana has always been an avid reader and speaker. During the pandemic, her spoken-word poetry on a doctor's perspective in COVID-19 was published in 2020. Along with her work as a published poet, she has also contributed to the field of emerging population health issues as a published researcher from 2022. One of her lifelong passions is music as an integral expression of her artistic identity as a singer-songwriter. She is also an animal lover, cat rescuer, and enjoys travelling. Driven with passion for promoting well-being, bridging health knowledge gaps, and advancing global health initiatives, Marjana is dedicated to inspiring young people to take charge about their well-being and reach their full potential.
