Byron Butterworth holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry with over one hundred and twenty peer-reviewed scientific publications. He now makes short films and writes about nature, the human condition and personal relationships. He lives with his wife, Amy Johnson, and their Welsh terrier, Lilly, in Raleigh, NC.
