Learning difficulties in biology teaching due to abstractions of the subject, many concepts that are difficult to understand and a lack of connection with the reality experienced by society are frequent problems faced in the classroom. In an effort to improve this current teaching model, differentiated lessons and the use of new teaching resources have been incorporated into the day-to-day teaching of science in schools. Practical classes, field classes, demonstrative classes and audiovisual resources are strategies that can help in the teaching-learning process by facilitating the understanding of concepts that involve teaching the most diverse areas of the biological sciences. This book presents an evaluation of the students' real learning when they combine theoretical lectures with the use of practical classes in the teaching of Biotechnology to third year high school students, as well as considering the importance of practical classes according to the student's view of learning.
