Written by 10-year-old author Karalyn Rose, The Wolf That Finds a Friend is a heartwarming tale of courage, friendship, and self-discovery. Meet Sophie, a gentle wolf who has always lived alone in a vast, beautiful forest. After years of watching the seasons change on her own, Sophie decides to do something she's never done before-leave the safety of her home in search of a friend. Along the way, she faces rushing rivers, unexpected setbacks, and moments of self-doubt, but her bravery leads her to discover a whole new world. With rich imagery and a touching message, this beautifully illustrated story reminds readers of all ages that stepping outside your comfort zone can lead to exciting adventures, meaningful rewards, and the joy of true friendship.
Karalyn Rose is a 10-year-old author, entrepreneur, and the founder of Tiny & Mighty Books, a children's publishing company she launched to help young voices be heard. She began writing her debut picture book, A Wolf That Finds a Friend, at the age of seven and spent over three years bringing it to life-taking writing classes, studying story structure, and revising every page with creativity and determination well beyond her years. As the story developed, Karalyn began to notice something unexpected: her main character, Sophie the wolf, reflected many of her own feelings. Like Sophie, Karalyn has found friendship to be a challenge at times. She understands what it's like to feel alone, and through her story, she explored the courage it takes to step out of your comfort zone and connect with others. When she first shared her early story with her parents and asked if anyone would put it in their bookstore, they said no-but encouraged her to improve it. Rather than being discouraged, Karalyn asked, "What can I do to make it better?" From that moment, she dedicated herself to learning the craft of storytelling. Armed with a giant synonym finder and an unstoppable mindset, she worked tirelessly to improve her writing, research publishing, and eventually launch her own company (with her parent's help of course!).Karalyn's journey is one of creativity, grit, and a deep belief in possibility. When she's not writing, she enjoys playing chess, going to the beach, and spending time with her goofy, lovable husky-malinois mix who's always by her side.Karalyn hopes her story inspires other kids to believe in themselves and know that they, too, can do mighty things.
