No matter what Chad did he never seemed to fit in with the rest of the high school kids. It was not his looks. More than one girl took notice of him, that is until they got to know him better. No matter what Chad did he never seemed to fit in with the rest of the high school kids. It was not his looks. More than one girl took notice of him, that is until they got to know him better. He was odd and not in a bad way, but with his photographic memory, he never forgot a thing. He could tell them what they wore to school a month ago or repeat a lecture from a teacher word for word weeks after he heard it. Chad was a genius. One day as he was walking along the ocean, pondering life, he chanced to see a ring of 7 rocks where the tide had retreated. Curiosity got the best of him and he went to investigate. In the water, directly in the center of the rocks, he sees an unusual tube-like device. After retrieving it he chances to look through it and discovers an entire race of small, translucent, human-like creatures. Using the device he is able to enter their empire. A war is about to be launched between the land and sea dwellers. Chad is commissioned to use his superior intellect to help solve this problem they are facing. Though friendless in the real world he is a hero to the little ones inside their universe. But to what lengths is he willing to go to prevent this war from happening? Will there ever come a time when the most unpopular kid in school becomes the most popular, the one to know? Find out in this short story of The World Within.
Creativity is the driving force. It is easy to read a book, but to write one gives a person a chance to compose the story and use imagination to bring it home to the readers. Pen descriptions are important. If an author can imagine something and then portray it in a book in such a way that others can catch that vision, this is satisfying. Have you ever wished a book or movie would have had a different ending? As an author, you can choose the ending you like best. I also believe a person should be able to make a little judgment about the content of a book by looking at its cover. The cover is the first impression a prospective reader sees. It should be one that draws them to explore it more, to read it, and while doing so, to live the adventure as if they were right there as the story unfolds. Writing is one of the most powerful and satisfying forms of creativity. It is wonderful when the story is already written and the author tunes in. Characters are born, live, and die. They demand the author listen to what they have to say; let them help in directing the whole.
