Autorenporträt
William Broughton Burt grew up in a Mississippi river town and discovered writers like Kerouac and Hunter S. Thompson in his teens. After earning his master's from the University of Memphis, he taught English in Shenzhen, China during the 2003 SARS epidemic. While others fled, Burt remained, and his experiences became the basis for 'The Year of the Hydra." Now in his sixties, he writes essays on personal development and swears he'll never write another novel, making this debut singular.
