Autorenporträt


George H. Borrow (18031881) English writer and linguist. Though he'd studied law, he was enamored with travel, and embarked on his first European tours in 1825. In his travels, he developed a great interest in the Romani people, and in 1874, compiled a lexicon of Romani. His most famous work is The Romany Rye (1857), which brought him immediate fame.
