'A beautifully crafted work of language, land, intelligence, insight, observation and philosophy...' BookTrib An American expat craving success... A Thai girl scarred by the past... An Aussie searching for his father... A Thai man finding the world passing him by... A failed priest prays and sins and prays again... Each pursues their own dreams--becoming a business owner, fighting alcoholism, searching for a relative, or simply growing up. It is city life in Bangkok as experienced by young Westerners as well as local Thais, all of whom follow their own dreams against the backdrop of a modern and ever-changing city. Combining the mundane and the mystical, the everyday and epic, There Are Still Unknown Places is an unforgettable novel for a generation disillusioned by the promises of the world, wanting to search for their destinies in far-off places. 'There are a lot of books that emulate the feeling of traveling to a new place... yet there are very few books that feel like completely living somewhere else. It is a deeply captivating and enriching sensation, and it makes There Are Still Unknown Places all the more special.' Independent Book Review
