It follows from the experimental results that the 150 microns particle sized sample reduced the flammability of virgin polypropylene and improved the mechanical properties. These were attributed to the enhanced properties of fibreglass used as reinforcement. All the additives in different particle sizes had an impact on the pure polypropylene for both the flammability and mechanical properties investigated with increasing filler loadings. The ignition time for all the composites grew up with increase in filler loadings. The order of increase in ignition time results from 0 - 10%: 150 microns 200 microns 250 microns 300 microns. The increase in ignition time was as a result of inert nature of the fibreglass, Aluminium Trihydrate (ATH) and epoxy resins used in the production of fibreglass reinforced epoxy waste. The high ignition time recorded in the 150 microns particle sized sample suggested that there would be an improvement in the flame retardant of polypropylene achieved bya synergy of nitrogen compounds and inert nature of the fiberglass in the matrix.
