Dr. Michael Herbert is a Professor Emeritus of Criminal Justice at Bemidji State University. While attending Bemidji State he participated in the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class Officer Candidate School. Prior to becoming a professor, Michael spent 23 years as a Minnesota Peace Officer, his last ten years of service was as a SWAT Team leader. Michael lives in northern Minnesota with his wife, Deborah, of 41 years. Michael is an amateur WWII historian and enjoys restoring WWII vehicles. Michael is a member and Adjutant of his local American Legion Post. This is his second book, the first being "Leaving Campus A World War II Epitaph, the account of 20 Bemidji State college students who volunteered for military service and were later lost their lives in service to their country.
