They Just Don't Know A Memoir by Charity Anderson Addiction can be a prison with invisible bars-a cage that traps the mind, body, and soul in endless cycles of despair. For years, I lived as both prisoner and guard, convinced there was no way out. They Just Don't Know is the story of my journey from that dark place, where my life was defined by desperation and dependency, to the light and freedom of salvation that I had once believed was beyond my reach. This book is not only an account of my struggle with addiction but also a testament to the power of grace and the undeniable hand of God at work in even the bleakest circumstances. I wrote this book for those who feel lost, for families who don't understand what their loved ones are going through, and for anyone who has struggled with pain, addiction, or feeling unworthy. It is a story about the battle for my soul, one fought on the bathroom floors of gas stations, in lonely rooms, and under the weight of unbearable shame. Yet, it's also a story of hope-how I found strength in weakness, faith in brokenness, and, ultimately, salvation where I least expected it. My hope is that, by sharing my story, you might discover that no matter how far you feel you've fallen, there is a path to redemption and a purpose waiting on the other side of your pain.
Autorenporträt
Charity Anderson - Author & Advocate Born into a military family, I was blessed with stability, opportunity, and a strong spiritual foundation in the Holiness church. Yet despite these beginnings, my choices led me down a path of addiction, prostitution, and incarceration-a world I never imagined for myself. But by the grace of God, I survived. Seventeen years delivered, I now live a life filled with joy, purpose, and restoration. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Co-CEO of Offensive Rebounds LLC, and a Minister of the Gospel. I am also a wife, mother of three, and proud grandmother of two. Today, I pour back into the very communities I once struggled in. My journey is proof that there is life after addiction, after prison, after pain-and that recovery is not only possible, but powerful.
