George O'Connell was born in Adelaide but grew up in country South Australia. He spent countless hours reading books, mostly action and adventure. In his spare time he played sport and spent time with mates on their farms or fishing boats. George graduated from university with business qualifications, including an MBA. He went on to manage businesses for MNCs.George is the author of three previous books. His first and unpublished historical fiction book, A Special Lady from Hanoi, is based on the life of a pioneering Vietnamese ophthalmologist over five decades from the 1950s.His second book, Bloodwood Grove, a Jim Walker crime novel thriller set in the Australian Outback, was published in April 2021.George's third book, Stashed, also a Jim Walker thriller, was published in 2023. They Knew Too Much is the final Jim Walker thriller book, and features the same detective and forensic scientist as in Bloodwood Grove and Stashed.George lives in Adelaide but lived in NSW for five years and later worked in the Northern Territory, gaining valuable insight into Australia's Outback.
