Thoughts in Different Shades, is a collection of poems that reflect the outlook, the pain, the pleasures, the discernment, and the thoughts of Victory Gentry. Some of the writing describes his past and current relationships, while others tell stories of what and how he sees the world around him. All and all they are a collage of his thoughts that he has flush out of his inner-self and put into words. This collection of works spans close to fifty years of self- interrogating and discovering ways of expressing his thoughts through writing. Some of the works date back to the early eighties while others were completed in the early two thousand and twenties. Close Friend, his first completed work with the intentions of being lyrics for a song, and yes, there is a melody for it. As with the poem Am I, he did turn into a song. Driving at Dawn is a story that is based on true events that happened while he was a school bus driver. This collection of poems are not all of his works. They were carefully picked out and chosen to complete this set of thoughts. Even the book cover was carefully thought out; using the different shades of pastel colors to express the different tones and hues of each and every thought. Victory as he liked to be called, was inspired to share this body of work after talking to a friend once she had read his first book Grandpa Fairy Tales "Horatio the Hawk" and some of his poems that he has written.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Victory R. Gentry is a writer and author of fiction and poetry books for children and adults. He has a published book titled Grandpa's Fairy Tale "Horatio The Hawk. It's about a Hawk that has a disability and is able to overcome his everyday expectations. He also has two songs that he wrote the lyrics to: Am I, and New Love, and one that is expected to be completed in spring of 2025. Victory was born in Nashville, TN in a family with both parents and five siblings, four brothers and one sister. Being the youngest of the siblings he was able to observe his brothers and sister and watch how they interact with his parents and others. Victory was also raised within a hand's throw of a majority of his cousins on his mother's side. When he was five his family moved into a house that had two sections. The lower section of the house is where his grandmother lived with an aunt, her husband, and six children. The other section of the house was built on top of the lower section with its own entrance. That is where Victory, his parents and his four siblings lived. During that year all of the children learn to live not like cousins but more like brothers and sisters. After a stint in the military, the Marines and traveling around the world, Victory met my wife and they have four children. Alisha, Tyler (Emily) Jonathan, and Justin. He also has five Grandchildren Sean, Brandon, Elliott, Tyler Jr., and Rumor. Victory now resides in Louisville Ky. Where he has lived for the last twenty-five years.
