I'm excited to introduce my third children's book called "Thrifty Nan". I like to write fun and easy to read poetic stories with sweet and supportive messages. This book captures the essence of thrift shopping with your Nan and the benefits of recycling for the environment. It also encourages individuality. The story was inspired by my love of thrift shopping with my mum. I have many memories of wonderful days out, lovely lunches, lots of cuppas and sharing some good laughs on our thrift shopping quests together. I grew up wearing beautiful hand sewn, knitted or crocheted clothes that Mum had made or second-hand clothes that were recycled between friends and family. The "waste not want not" motto from my generation has stuck true and my love of thrift shopping has grown from this. My mum always cared for nature and the environment. She was always recycling, and conscious of her carbon footprint. She is remembered dearly for this in our family. She was our "Thrifty Nan".Thank you to the very talented Lisa Coutts who has made the story complete by perfectly capturing the joy of thrift shopping with your nan, through her amazing illustrations. Once again thank you to Busybird Publishing for their professionalism, guidance and patience in assisting me to publish my third book.
