Autorenporträt
Manuela Brocksieper, geboren 1964 in Lüdenscheid, Sauerland - im Herzen der Wälder. Lebt jetzt in Ritterhude, nördlich von Bremen. Master of Geosciences der Universität Bremen und Kommunikations-Profi seit 1988. Ihre Neugier und Begeisterung für Kinder hat ihr das Schreiben eingebracht. Das Buch WalHeimat entstand im Rahmen der Timeless-Arctic-Expedition 2022. Polarbegeisterung begleitet sie schon seit Jugendjahren. Abenteurer-Literatur und Polarforschende wurden verschlungen. Sie war im Projekt-Management für Veranstaltungen tätig, in der Geschäftsleitung für die Medienkommunikation und hat spät nochmal - als Mutter von zwei kleinen Kindern - studiert. Das Beste aus beiden Welten - der Geowissenschaft und der Kommunikation - bündelt sie nun für die Wissenschaftskommunikation. Wer Kindern Zusammenhänge erklären kann - der erreicht auch Erwachsene ist ihr Credo. Neben ihrer selbständigen Arbeit leitet sie ein StadtteilCafé in dem viele Concerte, Ausstellungen, Events und Talkshows stattfinden. Sie begeistert sich für Reisen, Begegnungen und andere Kulturen. Als Netzwerkerin und SozialDiakonin ist sie lebensnah und begeistert im Austausch. Sie entspannt sich bei Motorradfahrten, Steinbildhauerei, Musik oder beim Bergwandern. Ständig lernt sie neue Sprachen, Fertigkeiten oder probiert sich aus. Grenzen verschieben ist ihre Leidenschaft.
