Mariska is a veterinary surgeon, creative mum, and founder of Tiny Tots Adventures, a platform dedicated to inspiring screen-free, imaginative play for young children. Originally from the Netherlands, she has lived in Australia for many years, balancing her professional career with raising her daughter, who was unexpectedly born prematurely. Their hospital and NICU journey as a micro preemie, as well as the interaction with many developmental specialists, sparked Mariska's passion for creating activities that support development, curiosity, and creativity in early childhood.Drawing from her experiences as both a mother and a clinician, Mariska believes that children thrive when given opportunities to explore, experiment, and engage with the world around them - without relying on screens or excessive amounts of toys. Her approach emphasizes simple, household-based activities that encourage problem-solving, sensory exploration, and independent play, while also fostering meaningful parent-child connections.Mariska's creativity extends beyond her professional work into art, photography, and children's storytelling. She has developed several guides and activity kits under the Tiny Tots Adventures brand, helping families around the world discover playful, clutter-free ways to engage their children.
