This book deals with the ru, a word too often understood as a reference to 'Confucian literati'. The study consists of two parts. The Author: Nicolas Zufferey is Professor for Chinese Studies at the Department of Oriental Languages, University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is the author of several studies on the philosophy and intellectual history of the Han dynasty.
