BOOK ONE of The Tranny Tales Trilogy: CREATING - FILIAL PIETY Tranny Tales Trilogy is a raw, unfiltered memoir by LJ Chang, a transgender, neurodivergent, and QTBIPOC immigrant reclaiming realities. In this first volume, the author lays the foundation by exploring his roots as a direct descendant of a modern-day slave. Framed through the perspective of an empty glass, this book reveals hidden stories about his mom and grandparents' lives under authoritarian rule in rural China - during a period when Communist state control dictated social norms, personal relationships, and entire communities. Honoring his ancestors, he embraces the sacred spiritual role of being a memory keeper. Spanning rural China, inner-city Minneapolis, and sunny San Diego, The Tranny Tales Trilogy unfolds across shifting systems, structures, and societies - weaving unfiltered true stories that illuminate the fundamentals of being human through themes of housing, food, water, transportation, and even toilets. Serving as both a vehicle and a vessel, Tranny Tales bridges worlds and moves across spectrums of survival to privilege, translating radically personal yet universally relatable stories across time, space, and cultures. Honoring the fight for freedom, it invites readers to explore free will, free choice, and the rights to exist freely on earth - seeking solidarity across borders, bridges, and belonging.
