We all transition. It's what binds us, not what separates us. Be it through moving from childhood to adolescence, our sexuality, our gender, in our relationship with love, our racial identity or individual purpose, every aspect of our lives is in transition; and if we can apply transitional thinking to our lives, we can begin to deconstruct both the internal barriers within ourselves and the external barriers between each other.

WATERSTONES' BEST BOOKS OF 2023: POLITICS

We all transition. It's what binds us, not what separates us. Be it through moving from childhood to adolescence, our sexuality, our gender, in our relationship with love, our racial identity or individual purpose, every aspect of our lives is in transition; and if we can apply transitional thinking to our lives, we can begin to deconstruct both the internal barriers within ourselves and the external barriers between each other.

In this life-affirming, heartfelt and intimate book, activist, documentary filmmaker and model Munroe Bergdorf shares reflections from her own life to illustrate how transitioning is an essential part of all our lives.

Through the story of one woman's extraordinary mission to live with authenticity, Transitional shows us how to heal, how to build a stronger community and evolve, from a place of shame to a place of pride.

Ultimately, this book will teach us how transitioning benefits us all, both as individuals and in order to create a global consciousness, and how we can leaning into transition can help us move closer to a place of honesty and empathy in our lives.
