This exercise book is the result of 11 years of teaching experience and of research done during MA, and then PHD studies. Product of extensive interdisciplinary research, with insights gained from several branches of Applied Linguistics ( EFL teaching, Translation Studies, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Text Linguistics and Functionalism) this corpus is part of a proposal for a reconsideration of translation in the EFL class, not only as an occasional tool, but also as a basic skill in today¿s global society. Being the applied component the pragmatically oriented theoretical principles with an impact on Translation Studies, the proposed activities follow the methodological principles of the Communicative and Post Communicative approaches to ELT and have already been applied with great success in a Romanian high school.
