Matthew Heneghan is a former Canadian Armed Forces member and frontline paramedic whose writing explores trauma, recovery, and the quiet resilience of lived experience. Drawing from years spent responding to medical crises, navigating addiction, and rebuilding life in the aftermath, his work blends honesty, dark humour, and unflinching compassion.He is the author of the memoir A Medic's Mind, host of the podcast Unwritten Chapters - Life After Trauma, and a vocal advocate for mental health among veterans, first responders, and survivors of addiction. His storytelling has been featured in classrooms, media interviews, community events, and in the lives of readers who find themselves in his words.Born in England and raised in British Columbia, Matthew now lives in the Okanagan with his wife and blended family, where he continues to write, create, and turn survival into story.
