Accommodative convergent strabismus is a group of different clinical situations with sometimes imprecise boundaries, linked by a common denominator: the accommodative stimulus. If left untreated, it leads in the majority of cases to functional loss of the deviated eye. We conducted a retrospective, descriptive study of 50 patients who were followed for accommodative convergent strabismus. Data were collected from medical records. All patients underwent a complete ophthalmological examination and a detailed orthoptic assessment. The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary profile of patients with accommodative esotropia requiring early, case-by-case management, ranging from simple correction with glasses or contact lenses to surgery.
