Joe is a New Jersey native whose writing is influenced by his family, life experiences, and love of food. He has worked as a teacher and coach in both elementary and middle schools, where he developed a strong connection to kids and learning.The character of Tamus the hippo was inspired by a cookie from a local bakery near where Joe grew up. With this book, Joe hopes to help kids and adults approach each day with a more positive outlook.
