Jim Brewer was raised on a farm in Northern Michigan where he learned to hunt at an early age. In his upbringing, many folks owned hunting camps, and Jim came to love the fun, camaraderie, and challenge of the sport. Always a self-starter, Jim began a maple syrup business as a teenager to help pay for college. After receiving his degrees, he became a petroleum engineer, having worked across six continents for a major oil company. Now retired, he enjoys spending his time hunting, making maple syrup, traveling, and writing.
