Gary Hernbroth is an award-winning speaker, business coach, and author. Recognized as one of the leading voices in the hospitality and events industry, he was honored by Connect Meetings as one of the "Top 15 over 50 Professionals in the Events Industry", and by Smart Meetings as a "Smart Speaker Award Winner: Best of the Stage - Industry Expert." Gary's clients often refer to him as their "strength and conditioning coach." He helps people and teams achieve greater success, expand their creativity, and find that extra gear. For over 30 years, he has inspired hundreds of audiences and customer organizations from an impressive array of diverse industries, specializing in critical business areas such as sales, leadership, branding, team synergy, and customer service. Gary's book "Twist the Familiar" (a phrase he coined while presenting a sales workshop for a client group) was the #1 "Top New Release" in its category when published in July 2024. One of the unique benefits of his book that readers enthusiastically embrace is that he helps them build their own playbook for success along the way, one story at a time. He achieved his first byline as a sixth grader writing for his school paper and won his first writing award from The Detroit News as a senior journalism student in high school. He earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University's School of Hospitality Business, where he currently serves as chairman of the board and past president of the school's alumni association. After college, he crafted a successful 18-year career in luxury hotels before founding his Training for Winners business in 1995. Gary was born in Texas, grew up in Michigan, and currently lives in Northern California. He enjoys playing golf with family and friends, traveling, supporting his favorite sports teams, kicking back to classic rock/pop music, and making memories on family outings.
