A goddess defies Olympus. A village fights to live. A nightmare breathes itself into existence. Tyche, goddess of Fortune, flees Olympus to save her child, refusing to surrender what the gods demand. Now her heart is torn, trading divine power for mortal love in the village where the human healer, Lep, offers the warmth of love, and Ikelos, the god of Nightmares, tempts her with the seductive power of dark illusion. Tyche's rebellion forces her to risk the ultimate sacrifice to protect all she has come to love. But when Olympus unleashes its wrath-and the gods face an unexpected Titan resistance-Tyche's defense shatters the line between waking and dreaming. Her greatest victory becomes her cruelest defeat. Has Tyche's refusal truly ended in sacrifice, or is she trapped forever within the nightmare of the god she once loved? A dark psychological fantasy and mythological retelling, Tyche's Rebellion is perfect for readers who crave courage forged in the darkest hour.
Autorenporträt
J Demos is the debut author of the dark mythological fantasy novel, Tyche's Rebellion. For her, this book transcends the page-it is a love letter to the Greek village of Pikerni, which is the story's primary setting and the source of her children's ancestry, and to the community that closed a long-broken family circle. This deep sense of belonging led her to immerse herself in the Greek language, ancient history, and classical mythology. As a visual artist and writer dedicated to supporting this region, J Demos plans to donate a portion of the novel's proceeds to help fund the village's restoration. She currently resides in North Idaho and is actively working on her next dark mythological saga under the watchful, if occasionally distracting, supervision of her cat, Boots, and a spirited squirrel named Arsonist LeafBall.
