June Teufel Dreyer is Professor and Chair, Department of Political Science, University of Miami. Dr. Dreyer is a member of the US-China Security Review Commission and a Senior Fellow with the Foreign Policy Research Institute. Her research centers on ethnic minorities; the Chinese military; cross-strait relations, and security issues in the Asia-Pacific. Dr. Dreyer is the author of China's Forty Millions: Minority Nationalities and National Integration in the People's Republic of China, and China's Political System: Modernization and Tradition. Her articles have appeared in numerous scholarly journals. Christopher Marsh is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of Asian Studies at Baylor University. His research centers on communist studies and transition politics, with a focus on Russia and China. He is currently completing a book titled Unparalleled Reforms: Lesson-drawing and Policy Choice in the Soviet and Chinese Transitions from Communism. Dr. Marsh is also the author of Russia at the Polls: Voters, Elections, and Democratization and Making Russian Democracy Work: Social Capital, Economic Development, and Democratization, and numerous journal articles published in Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, the Journal of Baltic Studies, the American Journal of Chinese Studies, and Communist and Post-Communist Studies.
