High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ube Shrine is a Shinto shrine located at Tottori in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. It was the ichinomiya of Inaba province. From 1871 through 1946, the Ube Shrine was officially designated one of the Kokuhei Ch sha , meaning that it stood in the second rank of government supported shrines. These shrines were construed to have national significance; and the Kokuhei Ch sha encompassed 47 sanctuaries, including Ube-jinja. Shinto incorporates spiritual practices derived from many local and regional prehistoric traditions, but did not emerge as a formal centralized religious institution until the arrival of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, beginning in the 6th century. Buddhism gradually adapted in Japan to the native spirituality.
